A Crooked Moon
STYLE AND PRODUCTION NOTES
STORY AND EMOTIONAL INTENT
An original fictional breakfast scene. A proud first attempt at a pancake flip fails, then a calmer second try leads to a modest shared meal. Comic embarrassment softens into pleasure. This is not a report of a real personal event.
INTENDED MUSICAL IDENTITY
A simple acoustic swing-pop miniature with a restrained jazz-folk flavor. Planned tempo: 116 quarter-note beats per minute, 4/4, D major. Planned voice: adult male light middle tenor, clear conversational English, a small smile in the phrasing rather than an exaggerated comic character.
INSTRUMENTS AND ROLES
- Plucked banjo: short offbeat answers between vocal lines, sparse under words.
- Upright bass: rounded anchors with small walking pickups into the refrain.
- Brushed snare and soft kick: a light swinging pulse without dense fills.
These three core parts are production intentions. No crowd, choir, kitchen samples or literal sound effects were requested.
HARMONY, MELODY AND FORM
Proposed harmony: D6-Bm7-Em7-A9, with a brief G6 turn in the second verse. A small D-Fsharp-E-D answering motif returns lower for the last couplet. These chords and notes are intentions, not an exact executed score or a transcription of the result.
Early vocal entry, compact opening verse, refrain, changed second verse, the same refrain, closing couplet and short natural ending. The hook is repeated exactly in the supplied lyrics. An imagined small bass pickup joins sections; the final gesture is deliberately modest rather than a large climax.
SPACE AND EFFECTS
Close, mostly dry lead vocal and a small shared room around the acoustic parts. No long echoes or large artificial space. The aim is easy motion and clear words, not constant instrumental density.
REFERENCE AND COMPARISON LIMITS
The intended plan contrasts with the preceding piano-led, female-alto, minor-key miniature through its male voice, major-key swing, quicker pulse and plucked-string role. This comparison used written production plans, not a listening comparison. A distinct result is an aim, not a guarantee.
No specific current-chart membership is claimed. No LDM recording was copied or supplied as audio conditioning, and no LDM sound-equivalence judgment has been made. Aggregate audio measurements do not identify instruments or voices.
TECHNICAL SETTINGS AND VERIFIED OUTPUT
Free local ACE-Step 1.5 neural generation, CPU execution, eight inference steps, seed 202611071649, without the optional language model. These are generation conditions, not guarantees of exact melody, chords or sung wording.
Lyric body: 617 characters, including spaces and line breaks, excluding the summary. Measured duration: 90.000 seconds. WAV: stereo, 48 kHz, 16-bit PCM. M4A: stereo, 48 kHz AAC.
The waveform was finite and non-silent. Sample peak: 0.891266; RMS: 0.131839. Independent miniaudio comparisons agreed on duration, sample rate, channel count, peak, RMS, finiteness and unchanged input. No nonfinite or full-scale samples were measured. These are technical checks, not a musical-quality rating.
LYRIC AND LISTENING LIMITATIONS
One full-track small.en automated transcription recovered the first refrain and final couplet, but changed words in the opening and substantially omitted or scrambled parts of the second verse and repeated refrain. For example, it recognized pen in place of pan and prize in place of pride. This flags possible sung-word issues, but the recognizer can itself make mistakes. Exact performed words remain unverified.
No full listening pass was completed. The requested voice, instruments, swing, tempo, key, chords, effects, emotional response and overall quality have not been certified by listening. The supplied lyric text remains the intended lyric, not a verified transcript of the audio.
