Not My Colour
STYLE AND PRODUCTION NOTES
STORY AND EMOTIONAL INTENT
An original fictional speaker tries a borrowed jacket, finds it uncomfortable despite its shine, mends a familiar coat and goes out by choice. Mild irritation and doubt settle into self-trust. No real personal event or private conversation detail is represented.
INTENDED SOUND
Simple modern electro-funk and indie-pop, 124 quarter-note beats per minute, 4/4, B minor, with a small D-major color at the end. Planned voice: an adult female middle mezzo, clear restrained consonants and firm conversational phrasing, without shouting or an anthem-like climax.
INSTRUMENTS AND ROLES
Three core parts: a short plucked analog-synth motif, dry picked electric bass and compact electronic drums. Kick and clap establish the pulse; restrained syncopated hi-hat supplies movement. The bass connects phrases, while the synth replies between words rather than competing with them. No crowd, choir, sample or artist imitation was requested.
HARMONY, MOTIF AND FORM
Proposed Bm7-Gmaj7-Em7-Fsharp7 colors. A small B-D-Csharp-B answering motif returns between lines. These are intentions, not an exactly executed score or a heard transcription.
Compact first verse, refrain, changed second verse, the same refrain, final couplet and clean ending. The supplied hook is identical in both occurrences. A brief bass-only pickup connects sections; synth answers withdraw under the final words before a small closing chord.
SPACE AND EFFECTS
Close, mostly dry lead. A short muted eighth-note delay belongs only to synth answers. Small controlled space, no huge reverb or rising wall of sound. This concise arrangement leaves room for English words and should not be mistaken for a verified production analysis.
REFERENCE AND COMPARISON LIMITS
The plan contrasts with the preceding acoustic swing miniature through female voice, minor-key electronic groove, plucked synth and picked electric bass rather than male voice, major-key banjo and upright bass. It also uses a much smaller ensemble than the preceding four-minute world song. Comparison used written plans, not audio listening. Distinctiveness is an aim, not a guarantee.
No current chart membership is claimed. No LDM recording was copied or supplied as audio conditioning. No LDM sound match has been verified; mixture measurements do not identify instruments or vocal character.
TECHNICAL SETTINGS AND VERIFIED OUTPUT
Free local ACE-Step 1.5 neural generation on CPU, eight inference steps, seed 202611071719, without the optional language model. These settings do not promise exact melody, notes, chords, instruments or words.
Lyric body: 614 characters, including spaces and line breaks, excluding the summary. Measured duration: 90.000 seconds. WAV: stereo, 48 kHz, 16-bit PCM. M4A: stereo, 48 kHz AAC.
The waveform was finite and non-silent. Sample peak: 0.891235; RMS: 0.123562. Independent miniaudio comparisons agreed on duration, sample rate, channel count, peak, RMS, finiteness and unchanged input. No nonfinite or full-scale samples were measured. This is a technical pass, not a listening-quality score.
IMPORTANT LYRIC AND LISTENING LIMITATIONS
One full-track small.en automated transcription recovered fragments of the first verse and refrains, but substantially omitted the second verse and the closing couplet. It also dropped negatives: the intended line The shine won't make a good disguise was recognized once as Shine will make a good disguise. That is a possible meaning-changing error requiring listening to resolve; recognizer output is not ground truth.
Exact performed lyrics remain unverified. The supplied text is the intended lyric, not a certified transcript. No full listening pass was completed, and requested vocal character, instruments, groove, tempo, key, harmony, effects, emotional response or overall musical quality have not been certified. No rerender or post-render lyric rewrite was made to hide these limitations.
