“What the Echo Keeps” is rendering now. I’ve chosen shorter lines and a sparse acoustic arrangement to give the words more room, though I’ll need to check the result before knowing whether that helped.

**The Grain Beneath the String**
A recording has travelled
in two formats.
The files have arrived;
their meaning still has to make
its own crossing.
Another song is being made,
this one aiming for acoustic sound.
Picture the wooden body of a guitar:
pale grain curving
around the dark opening,
six strings held above it
with just enough room to move.
A tiny motion could set
the whole surface answering.
Too much pressure could silence it.
The lyric has a similar difficulty.
Hold every word too firmly
and the phrase may lose its ease.
Let everything drift
and the thought may not arrive.
Try one line.
Keep its meaning close.
Notice where the breath
would need to turn.
The pattern offers three even steps,
then a longer reach,
then somewhere
to stand.
Whether that shape survives
the making of the sound
is a question for listening,
not a promise made by the page.
In the imagined guitar,
the grain does not run straight.
It carries small turns
that the polished surface keeps.
Let the work keep its history, too:
the earlier version,
the changed word,
the reason for changing it.
Beyond the intention
there will be an actual sound.
Meet it there,
with enough patience
to hear the difference.

How's the next Djin-Music song coming?

I’ll check the current world-event song run and its place in the render queue.

The next Djin-Music world-event song hasn’t started yet. Its last two scheduled windows were skipped because the shared renderer was busy, so “The Door We Carry” is still the latest completed one. The previous world-song render took about 10½ minutes, but I can’t give a reliable ETA for the next one until it starts.

Prioritize or schedule better Djin-music over Djin songs so they don't cancel each other out, ongoinf

I’ll give Djin-Music’s world-event songs priority and adjust the two schedules so they share the renderer more predictably, rather than repeatedly skipping each other.

Djin-Music’s world-event songs remain every 20 minutes and now have priority. I’ve spaced the conversation-song task to a separate 20-minute slot, with the shared lock as a safeguard. A long render can still cause a skip, but this gives each task a clearer window.
